QB Troy Smith shredded this poor eagle team. Watch out for these Buckeyes they are ready for prime time.

This Tech school should be around for a while as it is loaded, Army QB Leamon Hall was not Army Strong and was hasseled all day by Jake Housewright and Ronyell Whitaker had two picks. One fan took this game to another level with his car.

Byron Leftwich hit Franklin Wallace with a short screen for a 50 yard TD to tie the game but with the game tied at 23 SJS QB Mike Perez hit Lafo Malaulu in the back of the end zone to win this game.

(1653) 1993 Arkansas - 14
This Washington State team is the best one they got in the tourny and didn't disappoint. With all the names, Jason Gesser, Marcus Trufant, Jerome Riley, Mike Bush all were present in this one and that overwhelmed the Danny Ford led Backs.

The Sophomore Carson Palmer couldn't take down the Lions and the 98-01 USC teams could be very overrated none of thoset teams were over 9 wins, with Carson Palmer. The play of this game was RB Eric McCoo and his bounce.

Bulldog-Bulldog-Bow Wow Wow! How this Yale team is ranked this high I don't know but they took out QB Zebbie Letheridge and RB Ricky Williams.

Another Ty sighting and he takes down the Sophomore Moore's(QB Shawn and RB Herman), but Herman takes this time to promote himself.

All QB Wayne Peace did was handoff to Neal Anderson and the rest was history, this was the worst team I have covered so far in the 1979 Tech Team. LB Wilbur Marshall was a beast in this one 6 sacks!

Classic overmatch and Mershawn Lynch went off, but the Salukis were so happy to be included in the tournament that they just kept dancing.

A Jason Radar Touchdown cut the lead to 1 but WR George Swarn made a crucial first down and time ran out on this very average 1985 Miami OH Team, that will be fed to 2004 California

RB James Brooks broke thru for Auburn and ran for 220 and Joe Cribbs had 110 as the Tigers ran thru a very below average Cal Team.

This would have been alot worse but ASU pulled all the starters at beginning of the 4th quarter with a 29-3 lead. Two touchdowns in garbage time made the score look better then the game actually was. QB Sam Keller and Derek Hagen scored twice and DL Jimmy Verdon forced a fumble that led to a Ricardo Stewart touchdown. But the real party was in the stands in this blow out.

A late one yard score by RB Steve Atkins was the difference in this one. But at least McNeese pushed their way into the tourny.

The two headed monster of TB Andre Callender and LV Whitworth, and on the other side Mathius Kiwanuka had 10 tackles 5 tfl's and 1 forced fumble. Also LB Brian Toal had two picks and this game was for the seniors, but at least UNT stood up Fo One!

(1036) 1977 UCLA - 23
A late Phil Dawson FG preserves the win for QB James Brown and Ricky Williams, despite a late run to the 20 yard line by UCLA RB Theotis Brown. Even a home movie of UCLA(zapruder would be proud) couldn't erase the highlight here that is what makes this team by far THE TEAM I HATE THE MOST IN THIS TOURNAMENT FOR THIS PLAY ALONE. Thank you for making me re-live this tramatic time in my life and 5 years of therapy down the drain.

I really like this Fighting Irish team lead by Tony Rice, Ricky Watters and The Rocket and with a defense of Chris Zorich and Todd Lyght on the Defense, Toledo had no chance, some of the Rockets players referred to this Irish team as a "Blackhawk helicopter landing on campus, they came in blew us away and left."

FSU WR Peter Warrick is ready for this tournament. His three touchdowns (including one on a punt return) set the stage for a blowout of Dick Tomey's Rainbow Warriors.

The first "upset" of the tournament. Ken Hatfield's wishbone offense outlasted LaVell Edwards and BYU QB Bob Jensen. The halftime show was pretty sweet too.

Two big backs squared off in Oregon's LeGarrette Blount and Georgia's Rodney Hampton. It was Oregon QB Jeremiah Masoli's mobility that gave the Bulldog defense fits though.

The Miami defense held ASU TE Todd Heap in check by pounding QB Jeff Krohn into oblivion. DL Kenard Lang even pressured Krohn into this amazing one handed interception in the second quarter.

Washington QB Steve Pelluer led Don James' Huskies to an easy, workmanlike win over Dwight Wallace's Cardinals.

A key 3rd down conversion, in which QB Craig Burnett somehow escaped the pass rush of DE Adalius Thomas to find WR Anthony Sargent for the first down, set up a last second field goal that did in a talented and upset-minded Golden Eagle squad. Sherrod Gideon (pictured) was disappointed, but his 1999 team is still in the mix.

Ole Miss DL Kelvin Pritchett was in QB Bradlee Van Pelt's pocket all game long. That didn't stop the Rams from pulling off a trick play for a touchdown to take the lead in the fourth quarter. Ole Miss answered with a touchdown drive that ate up most of the rest of the clock, and was capped by RB Randy Baldwin's game winning 2-yard touchdown plunge with just over a minute to play.

Will this tournament be an opportunity for the uber-talented 1999 Penn State Nittany Lions to finally fulfill their vast potential? A struggle in the first round against Randy Walker's scrappy Miami (Ohio) team doesn't bode well.

Some might say the #133 seed is a bit too high for Toledo. But Gary Pinkel and talented freshman RB Wasean Tate proved everybody wrong in this game. Virginia coach Al Groh couldn't pick a quarterback and the inability to get the offense jump started led to an easy rout for the Rockets.

Look out for Fisher DeBerry's Falcons! QB Dee Dowis is a force to be reckoned with, and EVERYBODY in this bracket better take notice of this upset. Dowis set the stage early with a 73-yard TD on an option keeper on the second play of the game. Kansas RB Garfield Taylor kept pace with Dowis on the ground, with 183 rushing yards of his own. But the Jayhawks inability to stop Dowis and the option on third downs did them in. If Dowis keeps this up they'll have to make another glass with his picture to sell in Colorado Springs gas stations.

The Utah duo of Tony Lindsay and Del Rodgers might have been good back in 1979, but the '96 Cadets shut the pair down. Army QB Ronnie McAda did his best Dee Dowis impression by leading the Cadets in both rushing and passing yardage.

Lou Holtz wasn't expecting to have to score 30+ points to win this game, but he wasn't counting on NIU RB Garrett Wolfe gouging his Irish defense to the tune of 165 yards and 2 tds. Luckily Holtz has QB Tony Rice and WR Tim Brown to score points when he needs to.

Cal's athleticism was more than the '81 Orange could handle. Coach Richard MacPherson's plan to eat up the clock with RB Joe Morris backfired the first time the Orange had to punt to DeSean Jackson.

Gary Pinkel has been busy in the first round so far. His Toledo teams are 2-0 already, and in this matchup he took a rest and let QB Chase Daniel and WR Jeremy Maclin do all the work. Miami, Ohio QB Ben Roethlisberger did his best to keep the Redhawks in the game, but he didn't get any help from his defense.

Another Toledo team in the field - another win. This time it's Tom Amstutz's turn to lead the Rockets. Another Joe Morris team bites the dust. This time he takes WR Art Monk along with him.

Grant Teaff didn't bring one of his better Baylor teams to the table in this matchup, but it wouldn't have mattered anyway. LB Lawrence Taylor looked like he was going to destroy anything in gold and green that got anywhere near the field! UNC RB Amos Lawrence (pictured) sank his teeth into the first round of the tournament with a solid 118 yard effort.
