RESULTS - BRACKET 31
Round 1

(98) 1999 Michigan - 33
(1951) 1980 Wyoming - 18
This 1999 team will be ready for this tourny as Tom Brady, David Terrell and Marquise Walker throttled the overmatched Cowpokes.

(927) 1996 Rice - 19
(1122) 1990 Alabama - 23
This was a lot closer then the experts thought as Rice played them tough all game and late interception by George Teague locked the game and Bama escapes the first round.

(610) 1983 Alabama - 31
(1439) 1995 Oklahoma - 17
The second Alabama Team in this bracket continued Bama's winning ways as they dismantled a below average OU squad, to believe OU was this bad at one point is incredible. LB Cornelius Bennett was a disruption all day and OU QB Eric Moore had no answers.

(415) 1978 Arkansas - 27
(1634) 1982 Tennessee - 14
The Razorbacks gave it all they got it this one but a Willie Gault led volunteer team couldn't do anything offensively against DT Dan Hampton and the Backs. This star studded Tennessee defense was very lackluster even with the likes of Dl Reggie White, DL Mike Cofer, and DB Bill Bates was run over all day.

(354) 1994 Utah - 39
(1695) 1999 Arizona - 18
QB Mike McCoy and Kevin Dyson were the story here as they hook up for 210 yards and 3 TD's. But 1999 Wildcat QB Ortege Jenkins and RB Trung Candidate couldn't repeat the magic of the 1998 team. But this team was a shell of that 12-1 team. Utes roll.

(671) 1989 BYU - 38
(1378) 1997 Rice - 27
Another Rice team in the tournament another loss. Ty Detmer hooked up with Andy Boyce two times and RB Matt Belini and the running game paved by OG Mohammed Elewonibi were too much for the Owls.

(866) 1997 Arizona - 24
(1183) 1991 Kansas State - 23
In a nail biter it took a Dennis Northcutt Punt return to win this one in the 4th quarter with 2 minutes left. The great Elijah Alexander forced a fumble late and got two sacks and took the post game interview to promote his charity.

(159) 1978 Notre Dame - 22
(1890) 1977 Jackson State - 13
Joe Montana yawned in this one and spent the after halftime on the sideline pining to his future endorsement deals. HB Vegas Ferguson rushed for 120 and 2 TD's, and the 1977 Jackson State steps out of the tourny.

(226) 1986 Michigan - 33
(1823) 1989 East Carolina - 16
Big Bo leads one of his best teams in the Tourny and QB Jim Harbaugh and WR Greg McMurtry were the story hooking up 9 times for 170 and 3 TD's. This will be a team to be reckoned with.

(799) 1982 BYU - 28
(1250) 2007 Rutgers - 23
QB Steve Young won one for the emblem and secured the victory for the Cougs against a very polished and possibly Greg Schiano's and the Schools best Rutgers history. Despite one big run by Ray Rice, he was bottled up DB Blake Jensen and Cougar D. The score looks better then the game was.

(738) 1989 Arizona - 19
(1311) 1980 Drake - 18
1980 Drake team played hard for its seniors and almost pulled of one of the biggest upsets of the tournament so far, but a tipped pass by LB Chris Singleton that lead to a pick by DB Daryll Lewis stopped the last minute drive by The Drake.

(287) 1991 Notre Dame - 35
(1762) 1986 Iowa State - 17
The contributers on this team are staggering, QB Rick Mirer, TB Rodney Culver, RB Jerome Bettis(our first bus sighting), WR Lake Dawson and that is just on the offensive side of the ball, none of these players saw any time in the second half. LB Demetrius Debose desposed of the cyclones despite the Power Cheer.

(482) 2001 Louisville - 27
(1567) 1999 Auburn - 16
This Louisville team will surprise some teams, with the great Dave Ragone-Deion Branch connection in full effect in this one. But at least we have another Aubie sighting that is more inspiring then the play by the FB Heath Evans led Tigers.

(543) 2001 Fresno State - 32
(1506) 1977 Eastern Michigan - 20
David Carr, Benard Berrian, Rodney Wright all had the eye of the tiger in this one.

(994) 2008 Wake Forest - 22
(1055) 2006 Central Michigan - 23
Jim Grobe couldn't keep the highly touted Defense of Wake Forest with Aaron Curry and Alphonso Smith read too much of their own press clippings and with 32 seconds to go QB Dan Lefevour hit Ontario Sneed with a 41 yard screen to set up the winning FG by Rick Albreski to get the upset.

(31) 2008 Texas - 44
(2018) 2001 Kent State - 12
QB Freshman Joshua Cribbs was bottled up by Orakpo and Co. and Colt McCoy wasn't even breathed on in this one.
